Posting Guidelines

We want to encourage a community atmosphere in our forum where participants can share their insights and information to mutual benefit. In keeping with this goal, we ask that you please: [1] Read and post regularly. Our online forums represent an effort to build community in an organization where most folk do not work together face-to-face. Community happens only when everyone participating accept commits to full participation and endeavors to contribute regularly to discussions. [2] Stay on topic. If you wish to talk about a different subject, create a new thread under the most relevant category. [3] Don't make it personal. We want robust discussion and idea exchange. That means you will see posts where the ideas differ from your point of view. Having differences over professional matters should be expected; it is not personal. Focus on the content not the writer when exchanging in debate or putting forth your views. Treat your other participants with courtesy even if the things they say make your blood boil. [4] Watch your language. Do not use profane, threatening, abusive or otherwise offensive language. Don't post libelous or illegal material. Don't post discriminatory or harassing comments based on race, ethnic origin, gender or sexual orientation. [5] Never reveal confidential information. Remember that these forums are semi-public, and any information you post could be read by anyone with authorized access. Never refer to the people we support in a personally identifying way (initials only). Posts related to private matters should not be made on the forum; send an email message instead. YFN site administrators will remove without notice any post that violates the above conditions or is not posted under the appropriate category. We reserve the right to edit any post for language, length or content to keep the thread of conversation consistent with the initiated topic. We may remove older threads or messages to maintain categories or threads of manageable length.

Some say you should never talk about religion or politics in public. If you're not one of those, this forum is the place for you. Use the place to engage one another in lively political talk. Just remember: everyone is entitled to his or her opinion. We shouldn't get cranky with one another just because we do not agree.
